How to use Facebook Live





Facebook is one of the most popular social media networking platforms and is used by more than two billion users across the globe. People use it to share messages, videos, entertaining content and connect with their existing friends as well as make new friends. In the month of April 2016, Facebook launched Facebook Live. Facebook Live is a video streaming service that enables the users to broadcast live video from their Facebook mobile app into their news feed, which can be seen by anyone scrolling through their news feed at that time. As video content is known to attract more viewers than text, Facebook Live has seen immense popularity amongst a broad base of users for commercial as well as personal use.

Now Facebook Live can be accessed from Facebook Mobile App as well as the web version. But still, a large number of users access Facebook Live from their smartphones only due to the factor of convenience. 1. Open the Facebook app on your phone and go to your newsfeed. You will be able to see a small camera like icon towards the top-left corner. Click on it. You can also browse to your Facebook profile, click on the status bar and select “Live Video” option from the drop-down menu.

2. If you are using Facebook live for the first time, you must give access permission to Facebook to be able to use the camera and microphone.

3. Now towards the bottom left corner, near your photo and beneath your name you will be able to set the privacy settings, i.e. who all can view your live feed.

4. Now, you must give a befitting name to your video, so that people get attracted towards it. Also, write a description regarding the video. You can also tag any friends, select an activity or add a location to the video.

5. Now you must set the direction of the camera and check if it is pointing towards the right direction. You can also add filters or lenses to your video to make them more personalized.
6. If you are satisfied with all the settings, tap on the “Go Live” button, and your video will start streaming on your as well as other people’s newsfeed.

7. You can live stream videos of up to 90 minutes duration and can also interact with the viewers and respond to their comments.

8. After you have finished the video, tap on “Finish” button. You can also save the video to your camera roll. This would enable other people to view your video even after you have stopped streaming. You can also download the video and save it for future use.
